Old-fashioned with good underlying substance
All in all a very good program. However, due to the technical implementation it comes across as quite old and outdated. The website and the AFS test diagnostic environment haven't been modernized for some time. Also, as a graduate you don't get much exposure to the latest research findings.
Thank you for your feedback on our offerings!
Design is a matter of taste:
Our online applications are continuously maintained by our dedicated technical team, regularly updated, and kept up to date both in content and security. Updates are carried out in such a way that, ideally, our users don't notice anything — so as not to disturb their ongoing work. We change the design only cautiously and intentionally, to preserve a familiar and accessible environment.
Current research and continuing education:
In the customer center under subscription benefits, you'll currently find around 60 continuing education modules with scientific work and new findings from research and practice, all of which can be completed with a certificate. These contents are expanded and updated every year — perhaps you simply hadn't noticed this area yet.
We're very glad you fundamentally find our program very good, and we warmly invite you to take a look at the current continuing education offerings — there you'll find many exciting new developments from the latest dyslexia and learning research.
Warm regards,
Your Dyslexia Trainer Certificate Program Team
Flexibility and independence
The dyslexia and dyscalculia program was pleasant for me — I could schedule my time flexibly. However, I do think that a university background is important: both independence and structure should already be mastered.
Many thanks for your feedback and your rating of our certificate program for certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainers!
We're very glad that you found the flexibility and the ability to schedule your own time pleasant — that's a deliberate part of how we designed the program. At the same time, we agree with you: a solid pedagogical foundation, structured working habits, and self-discipline are very important to fully benefit from the program.
Warm regards,
Your Dyslexia Trainer Certificate Program Team
Good studies — manageable alongside a regular job
I liked that I could schedule my time myself. Alongside a 39-hour job, that was the only way. In practice it was simple for me — without overexerting myself. The advanced program is somewhat more difficult since on top of the regular job came self-employed activity. But here too there was actually enough time to manage it well.
Dyscalculia trainer: best preparation
Dyscalculia trainer: super module descriptions and a perfect way to personally continue your education, great professional readings, practical examples, helpful work materials, and a brilliant test procedure to identify the different sensory perceptions and accompany the child intensively!
Dyslexia/dyscalculia trainer certificate
I completed the certificate back in 2011 and have been able to work very well with it since then — I'm just missing the further development. Nothing stays still in its development, so the program should perhaps also have an extension. Opportunities to gain new insights.
Thank you for your feedback! Are you already familiar with the continuing education modules offered through the online customer center for graduates of a main certificate program? Currently there are 65 continuing education modules on various specialized topics around dyslexia, reading and writing weakness, dyscalculia, math weakness, and learning in general. These modules contain the latest research findings and can be completed with a certificate. We're constantly working on new content.

Completed all certificate programs, or currently in progress
With the certificate program, I could and can freely schedule my time alongside work. The materials arrived quickly and I could and can start quickly through my online access. The continuing education is also well structured and builds on each other. I hope for even more options regarding degrees in addition to the dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer programs and the two didactics programs.
Good support
The support from the team is very, very good. I am very satisfied, and communication with other colleagues is also very good thanks to the well-managed Facebook page. By now, very good conversation partners have emerged. I completed teacher training for German, history, and religious education, and additionally the training as a special and integration teacher, and also the training as an educator for children with increased support needs, and much more. If I didn't have these qualifications, I wouldn't be able to do training sessions with people with dyslexia/dyscalculia, since the training is very short and pedagogical and didactic aspects are largely missing. I always admire colleagues who come from completely different professional backgrounds. Perhaps more subject didactics could be built in here.
Dear Ms. Schwarz,
thank you for your positive feedback on the support from our team in Klagenfurt and the communication via our Facebook page. We're very glad that you found valuable conversation partners through our platform.
Your extensive pedagogical background certainly contributes to feeling well prepared. The admission requirements for the certificate program are clearly defined: all professional groups in the pedagogical, psychological, and medical fields, as well as people with relevant prior training. For colleagues without such a background, we offer additional resources and support to build the necessary foundations.
Thank you for the suggestion regarding more subject didactics — we are continuously expanding our offerings in this area.
Warm regards,

Good performance
Good performance and good support during the program.
good service, good seminar materials
The office's service is very good. Personal inquiries are answered promptly. They find arrangements that work well for all participants. The materials are specialized in content, but in their presentation they aren't always didactically optimal. Sometimes a systematic structure is missing, which makes the learning a little disjointed in places. Terms aren't always used consistently. The volume of material is perfectly chosen between enough information and being overloaded. Many practical tips are very useful for later training.
Dyscalculia and dyslexia distance course
everything top; well structured, informative, and easy to apply in practice
Course as dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer
As an additional qualification it helps me support and accompany the children in class more effectively. But I do think that you can't didactically and methodically support children based only on this course alone. For that you absolutely need additional training in these areas as well. Kind regards
Thank you for your feedback! To be admitted to the certificate program, certain prerequisites must be met. These include being able to demonstrate pedagogical and didactic prior knowledge. As an integration teacher, you should already have these and be familiar with pedagogical-didactic work with children. The certificate program builds on this foundation and provides specialized knowledge about dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer course
Very interesting and extensive training. I felt well looked after. Sometimes I wish there was more exchange of worksheets, or that worksheets were updated occasionally.
Thank you for your feedback! At www.arbeitsblaetter.org we provide nearly 20,000 (!) worksheets for training. This offers an extremely comprehensive collection so that training can be varied for candidates. Even with training over a longer period, repetition becomes minimal. The worksheets are sorted by sensory perceptions, since training is structured around them.

Enrichment
In 2011 I started the distance course as certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer. The learning material was excellent and the support for questions during the program was also fast and competent. Today I still work part-time as a dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer in my own rooms and still really enjoy it.
Hello!
Well-founded training! The live chat is super, since questions are answered right away! Possibly the symptom training could be conveyed in an even more practice-oriented way. Thanks for the kind support!
Thank you for your feedback! Have you ever tried the learning platform 'Lern- & Fernförderung (LFF)'? Lern- & Fernförderung (LFF) is a pedagogically valuable online diagnostic and learning program for German and mathematics in primary school. Three steps to success: pedagogical diagnosis, individual training plan, regular practice with progress tracking.

Review of the distance course
I've had extensively positive experiences with my additional qualification as a dyslexia trainer. As a primary school teacher I can draw on the experience I gained every day and advise parents more competently. Thank you! I would still wish for more detailed examples of diagnostic reports.
Thank you for your feedback! In the study materials and the AFS test manual, you'll find many examples for interpreting test results and templates for pedagogical assessments. Additionally, the AFS test has an automatic generation function for a pedagogical assessment based on the test results. This can serve as a starting point that you then individually adapt.
Warm regards,
Your Dyslexia Trainer Certificate Program Team
Good training — sadly not state-recognized
The topics are presented understandably and can be easily prepared on your own. The training period is appropriate. Support during the course is available. Thanks to the required practice time during the training, you're well prepared for independent work. Sadly the course isn't state-recognized, which is why only 4 stars. Otherwise everything's perfect.
Thank you for your feedback! The professions of certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer are unregulated and not state-regulated. There can therefore be no state or regional recognition that would be necessary to practice the profession. Nevertheless, the trainings are widely recognized in Germany and other countries, and our diploma certificates are accepted as proof of qualification.

Demanding
I'm 53 and found it demanding.
Review
The materials are clearly laid out and the resources provided are very helpful. Unfortunately there's no template or instruction for how the support concept should be created and in what form follow-up work should take place. One or one to two pages is, for me, inadequate guidance.
Thank you for the suggestion! The instructions on how to create the support plan and the final documentation have already been expanded (see online customer center under 'Certificate Program' in the 'Practice' section).

Dyslexia trainer distance course
I think the program, the offerings, and the materials are great. Unfortunately it isn't recognized as valid in every federal state, and I find that a real shame.
Thank you for your feedback! We would like to know exactly what you mean by 'not valid.' The professions of certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer are unregulated and not state-regulated. There can therefore be no state or regional recognition that would be necessary to practice the profession. Nevertheless, our diploma certificates are widely recognized.

Manageable with some prior knowledge
All in all I was satisfied. The scripts are well broken down and easy to understand, especially with prior knowledge from social/psychological fields, which you really should have. When I had follow-up questions I got an answer quickly. The material is progressive and is partially repeated, which solidifies it well. I found the multiple choice tasks easy — they could be more challenging. Creating the practice sheets was fun and was an important part for me. In my time there was a nice forum. That now only happens on Facebook, which I'm not on, and you'd have to be willing to register. The association doesn't get in touch on its own during the training, though, which I find a pity. Because once you've ordered the info pack and don't get back to them quickly, they do contact you. So that feels strange, and you really have to expect, in this distance course, to be largely on your own. I had a bit of the impression that this training is sold as "the one true training." But there are other paths for working with dyslexic people. After the training you need to actively ask questions to figure out how becoming self-employed works. Answers come promptly and thoroughly, though. The training center afterward is also very practical, but it costs money. I can recommend the training — it's very interesting and wasn't hard for me. But you have to be clear that becoming self-employed is difficult and you have to fight through that fairly alone.
