A methodically well-structured course that truly qualifies you.
As a teacher at a special-needs school, I was repeatedly surprised at how little we actually knew as teachers about dyslexia. I kept observing the affected students, was able to identify them, but I saw that they weren't being supported appropriately. So I set out to find a suitable further training and chose (thank God!) the ADA. The reasons I chose this training were the option of flexible time management, so that alongside my half-time teaching position, family, and household, I could keep carving out time to continue my education. Another reason was that from the start it was clear that the approach was not dogmatic but very open, offering many different ways to support learners. What matters is simply recognizing the causes of dyslexia or LRS and understanding the principle of support. From there many paths are open. The price was also fair. About the course itself: at first I found the opening pages quite simple, almost a bit superficial, and the required reading struck me as somewhat polemical, a little American for my taste, but I can also put it positively and say that someone has devoted themselves to this topic with great empathy and passion and made it understandable. The more I went into the topic, the more interesting it became. The module questions were easy to answer. The practical part took longer than I had originally assumed. The stated 50 hours were at least half of the time I actually spent on it. When I had questions, I always received quick — usually immediate — competent and detailed answers. Today, at the end of the program, I have to say that I learned a great deal and have the impression that I gained skills that help me shorten the suffering of dyslexic students. Heartfelt thanks for everything, I recommend this program with a clear conscience.
Heartfelt thanks for the depth!
After a previous training in a similar area, I was looking for more depth in order to better understand the difficulties of dyslexic and dyscalculic children. Background and foundational knowledge are enormously important to me, and I was able to find them in this program! Great praise from me!! The smooth process and rapid replies were also a very positive surprise. All in all, only to be recommended! I would do it again and am now really looking forward to the interesting continuing-education offers on their site!! Five fully deserved stars from me! THANK YOU!
Dyslexia trainer
A fantastic certificate. I was able to manage it even with three kids while on maternity leave, and I'm looking forward to the work.
This is how distance learning is fun
Clearly organized study material, optimal support with questions, clearly defined assignments, fast evaluation of the final paper and shipping of the certificates — and the European Social Fund covers 70% of the costs, since the qualification is recognized in Germany.
Course review
The materials are easy to understand, as are the books on the required reading list. Important parts come up again and again in the materials, so they anchor themselves effortlessly in your mind.
An additional qualification you can balance well with family life
In my teacher training they always said to support children individually, but to send those with reading, writing, or arithmetic difficulties to the expert. The question of who exactly the expert was usually remained unanswered, because the children aren't sick, so why send them to the doctor or psychologist? They don't have speech problems either, so a speech therapist? I had to give a presentation and write an exam paper on learning difficulties, and I kept coming across this distance course. Since the topic really interested me, I had the materials sent to me and signed up. The theory part was done quickly, but the practical part took longer for me because our second child was on the way. I was easily able to extend the deadline and then completed the practical part. Email questions were answered immediately, and working with the children is really enjoyable.
Distance learning with flexible time management
In my life situation with part-time work and family, studying via distance course was very welcome. Care is taken to ensure a balanced theory and practice section. Both parts are very much oriented to the future needs you'll have as a trainer. By the end of the program I had already rented a room and built up a small client base. I'm happy to recommend this distance course!
Great distance course
This distance course is outstanding for anyone whose schedule isn't flexible — being able to set your own pace is really fantastic. In the practical work with children you can immediately test the theory you've learned, and in the required reading you'll learn a great deal about the subject. Especially in the teaching profession, the topics covered can be reviewed and addressed. A great training with lots of background knowledge.
Lots that was new
The course is absolutely to be recommended. At the beginning it was hard to motivate myself to sit down at my desk on top of my full-time job. But pretty quickly I got into the really well-structured modules. And then it almost took care of itself. I learned lots of new things and tried them out and put them into practice right away. My perspective on dyslexic children has completely changed. I'm glad I chose this path and I'm looking forward to working as a certified dyslexia trainer.
very valuable distance course
With this course everyone can learn at their own rhythm. I find that I now recognize dyslexic children better and above all know how to help them.
Very practice-oriented training
I find this training very practice-oriented. The kindergarten area was especially relevant for me — unlike in other programs, it was presented really well here and there are great ideas for supporting kindergarten-aged children. It's also great that you can call at any time with questions, that you're treated very courteously, and that you feel everyone is really putting in the effort for you. I can only warmly recommend it to everyone!
Well thought through!
The certification as a dyslexia trainer is wonderfully put together. You can schedule your time however suits you, and the materials are very well structured. Everything is described clearly so you can find your way around. The online help is also great! You get quick, competent assistance. I also liked that you can download the study materials, so everything is digitally available.
Dyslexia
Online help was very friendly, kind, and always helpful.
Dyslexia trainer certification
With the study materials and the books on the reading list, it's easy to successfully complete all module questions and the practical work. By the end of the training you feel fully competent to work as a dyslexia trainer.
A worthwhile investment in continuing education
The certificate for dyscalculia and dyslexia trainer offered: clearly understandable and well-structured study materials; interesting, up-to-date content; prompt help by phone; comprehensive theory and application of what was learned already during the program; overall an excellent price-performance ratio — highly recommended!
Great course!
During my certification as a certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer with the ADA, I had exclusively positive experiences in every area. The online campus is clearly organized and offers, besides the usual services, numerous training games, worksheets, and links that can be used for practical work (especially with children). The four study modules and the required reading (consisting of eight books) prepare you well for the exams and offer plenty of inspiration and concrete suggestions for practice. Especially during the practical phase, the customer center is supportive and very friendly. For each exam candidate there is the option to generate a training book, which has gone over especially well with children and parents so far. To enable exchange between students and graduates, there is an online club where you can share experiences and ask questions. Graduates are offered a subscription, which I can especially recommend! Alongside web advertising, business cards, letterhead, logos, the AFS test, and much more, it offers numerous online continuing-education courses. By the end of the program I felt very well prepared for working with those affected, although as a speech therapist I already had experience in therapy settings. Today I benefit from the additional knowledge not only when working with dyslexic/dyscalculic people but also in my speech therapy sessions. In closing, I can only warmly recommend the program once again. :)
Dyscalculia
I felt well advised and accompanied throughout the program. It's a great advantage to be able to schedule the modules and the practical work yourself. There is one small point I would deepen a bit more: how to proceed with work in the symptom area.
Great
I'm very satisfied, both with the detailed study materials and with the fast response to emails whenever questions came up. Thank you very much
Review of the training
Dear ADA team, the certification as a certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer deserves 5 stars! You can manage your time well at home and work independently. At the same time, contact and information exchange were always excellent. Information was sent to me reliably and quickly. The installment payment option is also worth mentioning, because it made the program affordable for me. The learning content was thorough and clearly explained in the modules. The course is very practice-oriented and can therefore be integrated very well into your own work. The practical part lets you have your first experiences with what you've learned and is time-intensive but very instructive. The diploma was sent promptly and reliably. I can only recommend this training.
Qualified
Very satisfied, qualified materials and advice!
