I was very pleased with the training and still am — even years later. I'm very grateful for how quickly and reliably everything was handled.
I completed the dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer training and have been self-employed ever since. The training was very understandable and thorough; even the practical section was extremely well supported, and any unclear point or question was answered immediately. I would happily have given 5 points, but I do have one small piece of criticism. I think you really should already have some pedagogical background — ideally even a teaching degree — to truly feel safe working with children who have dyslexia or dyscalculia. In my view, having a window into the children's everyday school life and pedagogical know-how is extremely important to really meet a child where they are. All in all, though, I can only recommend the program!
The dyslexia trainer certificate provides extensive theoretical and practical know-how plus great service. I especially appreciated the flexibility next to a busy work life.
I think the training is very good because it includes both a well-organized theory section and a strong practical section. The study time is also nicely balanced, and you can manage the program alongside another degree. The evaluation of submitted documents happens very quickly and you get feedback fast. The exam options are also great, though in my view people who didn't choose the multiple-choice variant should also do the worksheets for the different sensory perceptions. That helped me enormously in finding my footing in practice. All in all, I think the training is very good.
* Study time well calculated — enough time built in * Materials thorough, but in places unstructured and could be improved stylistically * Exam options are user-friendly * Information by email answered quickly and in detail * Continuing education and networking opportunities available — great! * Independent work is desired and expected — the sample lesson plans help a lot when preparing training sessions
Good contact, fast handling, all good.
They really do their best. Good info. Good and quick handling of questions.
The continuing education courses can be done and chosen entirely from home. Very well suited for working professionals. The topics are clearly laid out and varied. You save a lot of time and money.
Easy process. Individually paced. Very good support when you have questions. Choice of exam modes. Practical part can be organized individually. Uncomplicated. Very satisfied.
The structure of the program is fantastic. Everything is very understandable and well explained. Even now in my daily work the materials are outstanding. I can only recommend this program.
It was a super interesting program and I learned a lot. The support was great too.
The program helped me a lot. From the very beginning the support was excellent. No matter what I asked or when, I always got a fast reply. The content is well and clearly structured. I haven't been able to apply it much professionally yet, but during after-school care it really helped me understand the children with their homework and offer better support to some of them. The only thing I would improve would be the paper of the materials. The whole thing is printed on glossy paper so you can't really highlight pages with a marker or pen — colors smear or rub off.
During my training, all my questions were answered as thoroughly as possible. I was also able to engage with this subject in a deep and independent way!
The program is demanding and well structured. There are plenty of teaching materials. The ADA's support of students is very good. Questions are answered quickly and professionally, and solutions are offered. Personally, for the practical part I would like the ADA to work more closely with dyslexia centers in larger cities in Austria and Germany, so that maybe as a student you would have the chance to shadow a dyslexia/dyscalculia trainer at work in those centers. Conversations with the "specialists" on the ground often surface other perspectives, and experiences can be exchanged. During my training, I tried to visit a dyslexia center or to apply for an internship there. It wasn't possible, or required a huge amount of effort. The students should be offered a simple, fast, unbureaucratic way to do that. From my practical training, though, I did learn that theory and practice don't yet form a unified whole. There's still a lot of work to do on that front. I wish the ADA team continued success!
I want to thank you for turning my initial interest into a calling. Working with the professional study materials, the materials on offer, and the friendly support reinforced my decision to soon start the follow-up program to become a dyscalculia trainer. Please keep going just like this!
The materials are very well prepared. That makes self-directed study no problem at all!
The program is very thorough and well illustrated, and you can also pull in additional offerings from the customer center. In the digital age there are also lots of online games and apps available. If you have questions or anything is unclear, the responsible people get back to you in no time. Because it's self-study, you set your own time and goals. I was able to get a lot out of the training and demand for this work is really high.
I really enjoyed the program and learned so much. Throughout you're very well supported and guided. You can ask for help anytime. Everyone at the dyslexia association I was in touch with during my studies was friendly and helpful. What's really great is the wealth of tools, most of which are available free of charge! After finishing the program I feel like I can genuinely help affected learners. I can warmly recommend this program to anyone interested.
I'm and was very satisfied with the program. I also really like that you can continue with various professional development courses afterwards. The individual modules and books are easy to navigate and very helpful (you can keep going back to them as reference). The information on the website is up to date and very interesting. I'd do the program again if I could. Many thanks. Best wishes, Manuela
