Good support, flexible, comfortable from home, ……
With questions or uncertainties, especially in the practical part, there was always a quick reply. You always felt supported and the grading was always quick and correct. Great distance course with excellent materials and very good questions in the submission assignments.
Very interesting and educational distance course. The support and the lively exchange, as well as the materials, enriched my work with the children. Good reachability for questions and quick help and replies. Good web presence. Many instructive tips. Good price-performance ratio. Well-written modules. Understandable for everyone. I felt very well supported and can only recommend the course.
very clearly arranged and easy to do alongside a job
Great structure, very practice-oriented. Good communication options and quick answers from the instructors. Quick help even with practical difficulties.
The course is an excellent opportunity to engage with the topic of dyslexia and dyscalculia in people. Knowledge simply helps to develop a feeling for those affected. The modules are designed so that you can work through them well alone. I loved during my own dyscalculia course that you could ask questions by email at any time and the support was outstanding (attentive, quick, and very friendly!). Another plus is that with the end of the course the options for continuing education are still given, and that there's a large network where you can get help or simply exchange ideas. Thanks for this course!!
My name is Jasmina Ionkova, living and working in the fifth biggest city of Bulgaria by the name of Rousse. It is situated along the bank of the Danube River. Back in old times, people used to call the town the Miniature Vienna. I am a pedagogue, i.e. social pedagogue, Master in Pedagogy and Certified Dyslexia Trainer with the American Dyslexia Association. I used to teach German at school for years on end, but what impressed me most was that kids would gain knowledge in different ways. Most of those who had difficulties learning their mother tongue would also have difficulties learning a foreign language, whether German or English. What made me take up studying dyslexia was a kid I wanted to help to and who was diagnosed at a medical care unit as being a dyslectic child. Thus all started for me in this field. I completed my special training with the American Dyslexia Association and was sure that I was destined to do that. In 2006 I established an association, and two years later, in 2008, I set up a dyslexia center. I have elaborated my own training program, called "New Start", based on diagnostics and the AFS method of Dr. Astrid Kopp-Duller. Having met Dr. Astrid Kopp-Duller and Mario Engel gave me a new impetus and direction in my life. I really think I have found my way and a field I fit in best. I would like to thank them for all things than in favor of such a great number of people! THANK YOU!
Great enrichment, informative, practice-oriented, and implementable training. Highly recommended to pass on!
I've now been working for more than 10 years as a certified dyslexia trainer and for some years also with the additional qualification as a certified dyscalculia trainer in my school. With the extensive practical knowledge I've acquired, I gained a much broader view of the problems of the children involved and can therefore help them in a much more individualized way. As a teacher I was absolutely not satisfied with the WHO's approach, which labels reading, writing, or arithmetic difficulties as pathological, and I'm very grateful that in these trainings the pedagogical-didactic path comes first. I'd also like to thank the ADA for its lasting work on behalf of my many children, whom I've helped further!
I was able to expand the offering in my learning practice and am now also recognized by the youth welfare office. Overall, I'm very glad that I chose the distance course at the ADA.
The course was well structured and very informative. Sometimes I would have liked to have someone to exchange thoughts about the content with. With follow-up questions you always got answers from the friendly people at the ADA, but that wasn't always enough. Since I came to the topic as a lateral entrant, I read several additional materials to round out my picture. With pedagogical-didactic prior training, the extensive study materials are surely sufficient. Bottom line: I didn't regret the distance course at all, even though it was sometimes hard.
The training is very extensive but also informative. If you need additional help, you're helped right away.
In this training you get a solid foundation as a dyslexia/dyscalculia trainer.
The pressure at school is enormous for children with reading and spelling difficulties. To be able to show children a way out of the dead end, this course is a very good help.
Very good materials. It's difficult to find dyslexic and dyscalculic people for the practical work.
I give the program only three out of five possible stars, because in both the module materials and the listed required readings the same content is repeated again and again. I find that tedious as a student and don't think it's necessary. ONE precise module presentation would be preferable. Theory is good, practice is better (more important). Unfortunately, despite my pedagogy degree and the module materials, I didn't feel sufficiently prepared for my first sessions. I would have hoped for more practical tips. Still, I'm glad I did the dyslexia program and am already looking forward to working with more children.
I completed the distance course as a dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer with the ADA. The study materials convey very broad expertise but are also very practice-oriented. You are therefore very well prepared for both the exams and the practical work. The support during the course was also wonderful. My questions, which I had sent by email, were answered extremely quickly and always very kindly. For me, this course was the perfect opportunity to continue my education alongside my job while being able to schedule my time freely. Pros: well-structured modules, competent and friendly support during and after the course, contemporary content, very well-built online customer center. Cons:
I completed the distance certification as a certified dyscalculia trainer and am very thrilled. The materials for learning are very well described and with lots of practical examples, so they're very easy to understand. Answering the modules on the computer was a great advantage for me, since I live far away. The many worksheets that are provided help me in my daily work — they're great, I'm always thrilled. The prices, whether for the training or for the follow-on services, are well affordable. I'm very glad I completed the distance course.
The support during the course is very good. Every question is answered promptly. The exam questions should be adapted to the modules. There are questions that come up which are only addressed in the next module (dyslexia). This is balanced out by the option to ask follow-up questions in the block. The content of the modules is very usable. Many practical examples are named. In all areas (customer center or block) further information options are mentioned. The ADA goes to court for equal treatment of all trainers (Certified Dyslexia Trainers (ADA) for Germany). Overall I'm very satisfied with the support.
