Top-organized
The course was a lot of fun and I was able to acquire a range of competencies that will probably ultimately help me find my place at the youth welfare office in Erlangen, which has so far been resistant to putting me on a list (probably there isn't one), but through the good communication I know that other trainers in Germany have difficulties too, and I'm hopeful. Likewise, one day I'll take the time and probably try the legal route to ensure that dyscalculic children also get equal opportunity compensation, because they are far more affected in terms of their behavioral abnormalities and their emotional and social competence — I've encountered both suicidal statements and eating disorders. Furthermore, children here are far too quickly sent by their teachers to child and youth psychiatrists, who then first make money off them, label them all as poor things, and then prescribe medication. Testing is often not clear and is still only done starting in 2nd grade. The course and also the whole organization in the network are very helpful here, even if Austria is probably simply more progressive than Germany
Great, except for symptom training
The only thing I was missing was a structured guide on how to build up the symptom training. I was very overwhelmed at the beginning and "fumbled around." Since I didn't study teaching, I had no idea about spelling didactics.
Thank you for your feedback! Detailed information on symptom training and spelling can be found in the required reading 'Dyslexia — Training According to the AFS Method.' For questions, we are very happy to be available at any time.

Certification as a dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer
As a teacher I was confronted for years with the phenomenon of dyslexia and dyscalculia. After completing the certificate as a certified dyslexia and dyscalculia trainer, I was able not only to advise parents but also to help students. The course was very interesting and informative. Despite my job, I didn't feel under pressure or unable to manage it. On the contrary — even after finishing the course, I look forward every now and then to a continuing-education program of my choice.
Very informative and absolutely worthwhile!
I didn't learn nearly as much about learning and perception processes in my training as an occupational therapist as I did in this distance course as a certified dyslexia trainer. It has enormously enriched my work — I can only recommend it!
Very good training
The scripts are easy to understand and clearly arranged. Pleasant to learn from, very practical, and you can actually start in practice quickly with the knowledge you've acquired. The AFS method is easy to handle and meaningful. The course gave me a lot for my practice and I finally know what to watch for in wanting to help a dyslexic or dyscalculic student.
Very good
The distance course is very well structured. With the modules you can work into the topic step by step. What I personally find very good is the offering of ongoing exchange. Because many questions only come up in the course of the work, which can then be very nicely connected to and answered by the theory.
A good combination of theory and practice
In the course I was able to connect new topic areas very well with the daily realities in the classroom and so help students with problems learning correct reading and writing. The open method can be put to good use in classroom teaching and in training sessions.

Dyslexia trainer training
Super helpful
After completing the program I applied a great deal of the methods in my classroom, and all my students benefit from it!!
A complete offering
There is no equivalent program in the German-speaking world that covers the essential foundations of dyslexia and dyscalculia so comprehensively and offers trainers such a solid basis for working with dyslexic children. Trainers are given an endless supply of resources that make it possible to work on the errors, stabilize potential perceptual differences, and strengthen attention when dealing with symbols. The program offers a meaningful alternative — targeting the causes of the various symptoms instead of relying on means that merely mask or contain the symptoms without eliminating them. Graduates of the course receive enough materials and information for a successful start in training children with learning difficulties (in schools or independently). The certification can be wholeheartedly recommended, including for prospective graduates abroad!
Dyslexia certification
I am very satisfied with the training and can apply the knowledge I gained well in practice.
The materials and the program itself are great, but .....
I don't like the fact that just anyone can enroll in this certification and earn the right to teach children and adolescents with dyslexia or reading and writing difficulties. I am very glad that, alongside the program, I also have a solid pedagogical training/degree, because the children are often burdened with significant problems. Knowing that some participants are pushing 70 or come from backgrounds like management consulting or fine arts, I really do wonder whether those participants are aware of the full scope of the issue and capable of responding appropriately. I would like to see admission requirements or, alternatively, only allow participants without further qualifications to take the course if it's strictly for private purposes (a dyslexic family member, etc.).
Thank you for your feedback!
The admission requirements for the certificate program are as follows:
All professional groups in the pedagogical, psychological, and medical fields (e.g., teachers, educators, preschool teachers, psychologists, doctors, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and many others), or people who deal with this topic for professional or personal reasons.

Very flexible to work through
Several years ago I completed the dyslexia trainer certification alongside my job, and I am now finishing the dyscalculia trainer program. What I especially appreciated was having a defined yet generous timeframe to work through the modules. That way I could work according to my individual circumstances. The advice and support from the team and the customer center were always excellent. The training was a pleasure. Many thanks!
ADA certification
Good study materials and book recommendations. Thanks to flexible scheduling, it is well suited as continuing education alongside work. Questions can be asked over the phone at any time. Great support.
Dyslexia certification
I can recommend the dyslexia and dyscalculia program to anyone. Email questions were always answered quickly and to my satisfaction. This program helps me a lot in my professional work as a teacher.
It was great fun!
The personal support was outstanding — emails were always answered quickly, kindly, and without fuss! I also love that the course is built around practice and you walk away with so many tools. For German students, the occasional expression feels a bit foreign. One point of criticism though: I would have liked to see scientific findings, historical background, or further specialist literature from a broader range of authors named as required reading.
Thank you for your feedback! In module 2 you'll find a detailed literature list for further reading, as well as literature references at the end of each chapter in the study materials. In the currently 24 continuing education modules in the customer center, you'll also find scripts from a wide range of authors.

Dyslexia and dyscalculia certification
For me, the training at ADA was just right because I could organize my own time and yet a lot was expected. There are many practical suggestions and countless materials that are well suited for everyday use. I would do this training again. Working through case studies I also found extremely valuable. Everything top-notch. What I would still wish for is more support with applications to the youth welfare office and on the right way to open a practice — especially when dealing with German authorities.
Thank you for your feedback!
We are happy to support you on your path to self-employment. Many suggestions can be found at http://service.legasthenietrainer.com. The Pro subscription package also includes many services (e.g., application materials, business cards, letterheads, etc.) that make starting easier for you.

Comprehensive content guaranteed
A program that leaves nothing to be desired. Excellent all-round support. Practical examples, logical structure of the study materials.
Great program
Flexible scheduling, practice-oriented — which is what I personally find most important — easily understandable materials that make the practical portion very doable too.
Dyslexia certification highly recommended!
It has been 15 years now since I trained as a certified dyslexia trainer. Back then I was a mother searching for help for my own child and stumbled upon the organization by chance. Up to that point I had no experience with e-learning, and I dared to try it anyway. There was also no alternative back then that appealed to me. In 2011 I earned my diploma as a dyscalculia trainer — that time I jumped at the opportunity right away. My experiences with the association, with Dr. Kopp-Duller and Mr. Engel and the whole team, have been nothing but positive. The study materials and requirements were appropriately demanding, and even though I didn't sit in on sessions with colleagues back then, I completed both qualifications successfully. The selection of worksheets, books, etc. was always extremely helpful. But the many really good worksheets created by the hard-working trainers that are now available are simply fantastic. I have also given many CDs and DVDs to teacher colleagues in elementary and lower secondary school, hoping to delight many students — not just dyslexic/dyscalculic ones — with good teaching material and to support the educators, or to give them inspiration for usable, motivating resources. I also want to mention the highly interesting and scientifically grounded annual conference — and free of charge!! I always learned so much there and it has benefited my work as a teacher. THANK YOU for EVERYTHING! Happy Easter and warm greetings from Vienna, Anita Holzer
